Repairs & service
Repairs are performed on the premises. Estimates are given in person, at no cost, after the piece has been examined under magnification. Turnaround times below are typical and may extend during November and December.
Watch battery replacement
Quartz movements. Water-resistant cases require gasket inspection and may be held for pressure testing. Turnaround: While you wait.
Ring sizing
Plain and stone-set bands. Eternity bands and tension settings are quoted individually. Turnaround: 1–2 days.
Chain and clasp soldering
Repaired rather than replaced where the repair will hold under normal wear. Turnaround: 1–3 days.
Prong retipping
Recommended every few years on daily-wear rings; worn prongs are the leading cause of stone loss. Turnaround: 2–4 days.
Stone replacement
Dependent on matching cut, color and clarity. Options are presented before ordering. Turnaround: 3 days – 2 weeks.
Pearl restringing
Knotted between pearls. Original clasp reused where serviceable. Turnaround: About 1 week.
Remount / rebuild
Design, wax or CAD, casting, setting and finishing, with client review at each stage. Turnaround: 2–4 weeks.
Engraving
Hand and machine engraving on bands, lockets and gift items. Turnaround: Same day – 3 days.
Cleaning and inspection
Ultrasonic and steam cleaning with a setting inspection at no charge. Turnaround: While you wait.
Deadline work
Provide the date required at drop-off. Work tied to a wedding or travel date is scheduled ahead of routine repairs where the bench allows. Call (201) 712-9339 in advance to confirm availability.
Before you come in
- Bring the piece itself; quotes are not issued by phone or photograph.
- Bring any loose or recovered stones, including fragments.
- Bring appraisal or certification documents if the piece is insured.
